For lunch yesterday, Kate and I tried out Hunter Gatherer Vegetarian Diner located near the General Hospital in Regina.
We shared The Stranger burger, which is a black bean patty topped with barbecue sauce, mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, onions, jalapeño peppers, and lettuce. On the side we took the double fried fries. We finished our meal with a pumpkin cake with a sweet frosting.
(Kate's angle of the food.)
All the food was delicious. I gobbled down my half of the burger way too quickly and told my wife that I'd probably return just for the tasty seasoned french fries.
The atmosphere of the place is quirky and fun. A GI Joe figure rides on a tiny plastic moose head, old Scrabble boards cover one wall, while another is constructed out of travel trunks fit together by someone who must love Tetris.
My only two complaints, if I had to make some, was that they had no decaf coffee available and I never got a chance to try their pie (more a timing issue than anything).
Definitely will go back again someday soon.
Kate dismayed/disappointed I ate my portion of food so quickly.
